ACA CORRECTIONS

 

 

 

 

DESCRIPTIONACA Corrections allows you to create ACA Correction files to E-file with the IRS.  It requires that you have both manifest and data files you E-file with the IRS and have either an error response file or the receipt ID of the transmission.

 

 

 

To access:  Click on the Human Resources module  then click the ACA Corrections menu item.   

 

The following window will appear first:

 

 

 

Select the Manifest File and Data File of the transmission you are correcting.  If you have an Error File from the IRS, then select that file as well.  If you do not have an Error File, enter the Receipt ID from the IRS of the transmission you are correcting.

 

If you only need to submit a 1094 C correction, first ensure you have made the relevant corrections in the 1094 C information utility inside the ACA Tax Reporting menu item.  This utility will use the information to create the correction files.  Once you have the 1094 C information set, click the Create 1094 C Correction button and select where you want to save the files.  This will create new Manifest and Data Files for you to transmit to the IRS.  A success message window will appear.  Click OK.  Click Cancel to exit the utility.

 

For all other ACA Corrections, click the Load Files button.

At the top is the list of employees included in the initial transmission.  This list can be filtered and sorted if you wish to only see certain groups of employees.

Employees with errors identified by the IRS Error File will be highlighted in red.  If you click on an employee in the list, their data from the original transmission will populate the form below this list.  Errors identified by the IRS will be listed in the Errors box on the right.  Update the employee's information in the form to correct the errors.  When you are done, click the Submit Correction button.  The employee's Status will change to Corrected and the employee row will highlight in purple.  If an employee was included in the original transmission but should not have been, select that employee in the list, then click the Clear Employee button.  This will automatically give the employee settings that the IRS treats as a Removal.  The employee's Status will change to Removed and the employee row will highlight in gray.  When you are finished making corrections, click the Create Correction File button and select where you want to save the correction files.

 

The utility will create new Manifest and Data Files to transmit to the IRS.  The new Data File will only include employees marked as either Corrected or Removed.  A success message window will appear.  Click OK.

 

NOTE:  THIS UTILITY DOES NOT CHANGE ANY INFORMATION IN PRO FUND ACCOUNTING.  AFTER MAKING YOUR ACA CORRECTIONS, BE SURE TO GO TO THE ACA TAX REPORTING MENU ITEM TO MAKE THE REQUIRED CORRECTIONS THERE, AS WELL, FOR FUTURE TRANSMISSIONS.

 

Click on the X in the upper right corner of the window to close the window.
