PAYROLL DEPARTMENTS

 

 

 

 

DESCRIPTIONPayroll Departments allows you to create departments for groups of employees.  Pro Fund Accounting provides many payroll reports showing department information.  For example, to set up the FICA and MEDICARE department numbers so that your FICA and MEDICARE employer matching amount will be properly calculated when you run the Payroll Calculation menu item.

 

 

 

To access:  Click on the Payroll module  then click the Payroll Departments menu item.

To set up a new Payroll Department, click the New  button.

 

Enter the Department Number and Name.  A Department Number of zero is reserved for all departments.  If you use Pro Fund Accounting's automated FICA and Medicare match options, then from the drop down list select the department's FICA employee number and Medicare employee number to use.  NOTE:  You can use the same FICA and Medicare employee numbers for all departments; they do not need to be unique to a department number.

 

After you have finished setting up your department numbers, using the Payroll module Employees menu item, make sure ALL your employees are assigned to the correct department.

 

When you are finished, click on the Save  button.  A success message window will appear.  Click OK.

 

Click on the X in the upper right corner of the window to close the window.
